Friday: First Friday Art Walk. Downtown Portland.
Stop by the PDD Office at 549 Congress St to check out our featured artist and our office. You can see where all the downtown magic comes from. Our neighbors right across the street, Space Gallery, are opening their new exhibit today. This a typography based show from five artists who are all very unique in their approach to art. From what we’ve seen in the window it looks great. We suggest you make this a sure stop on your First Friday Art Walk. More info about first friday artwalk at firstfridayartwalk.com

Saturday: Baystock. Maine State Pier. 6 PM. $35 DOS $25 In Advance.
I have to plug this show because I have been looking forward to it all summer. Guster is one of my favorites and have always loved them live. I was at their DVD taping at the Maine State Theater many years ago and have been waiting for them to return to Portland. Joining them will be Gypsy Tailwind, Cindy Bullens and the Jason Spooner Trio. All the proceeds will go to support pediatric cancer research, so you can fill good about your rocking. Say hi if you see me, I’ll be the one singing off key.
Sunday: 48 Hour Music Festival Movie. Space Gallery. 6 PM. $5.
The film follows the progress of the 48 hour music festival that took place in February. 28 musicians were randomly places into six bands and given two days to rehearse. Come see if you recognize any friends and get a behind the scenes look at Portland’s raging music scene.
